On April 16, 2023, Mr. NISHIMURA Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan, and Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change, the United Arab Emirates signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) in Japan. As a result, the JCM will be officially launched in the United Arab Emirates becoming the twenty-sixth partner country after Mongolia, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Maldives, Viet Nam, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Palau, Cambodia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Senegal, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and Papua New Guinea.
